Our Christmas Eve walk, using 2 cars technology we drove to Redmile and left Al's car then to Harby in John's car where the walk started. It was very cold with snow on the ground. Canal was frozen over and Matthew walked on it (cautiously). Stopped at a pub halfway, the Anchor Inn at Plungar, had a pint of Black Sheep but they could not do us food so we went on to Barkstone-le-Vale but were unlucky again as the pub was closed. We continued along the road to the canal then to Redmile where we found a nice pub and had a good meal.
